About
About Me
I was introduced to the world of Graphic Recording in 2009 during a professional development seminar for teachers while working overseas in Doha, Qatar. I was fascinated by the increased level of engagement from participants as the use of the visual medium increased their interest and buy-in. I began to seriously consider Graphic Recording/Graphic Facilitation as a career path in 2014 and in 2015 founded ViClarity Inc.
As a professional graphic recorder and lettering artist based in Calgary, I now specializes in "information architecture" providing a high level synthesis of information creating a useful visual tool of words, images and metaphor. I help individuals, teams and organizations make complex information more accessible and engaging through the creation of visual representations of ideas, conversations, and presentations.
My work as a graphic recorder takes me across Canada and the North, where I get to capture diverse stories, ideas, and visions from communities. I have the privilege of visually documenting important conversations, often on topics like Truth and Reconciliation, innovation, social and economic development, healthcare and community building. It's an honour to help bring these ideas to life in a way that fosters understanding and connection.
I hold a MA in Leadership Studies from Royal Roads University, am an Appreciative Inquiry Facilitator and World Café host. Prior to embarking on this journey of visual process work, I spent over two decades working as a frontline healthcare practitioner and educator and many years in senior administrative leadership roles in post-secondary education.
I currently spend my time between Calgary and Edmonton, Canada with my husband of 24 years, our three daughters, two cats and one dog!
