The Setting

Tom Benthin designed the conference room space, based on Pattern Language. We had a central meeting area, gallery space, break out walls, and a Café, complete with expresso machine and crayons! Color was as much a part of the conference theme, as the notion to "come play." Vibrant yellow, orange, pink and blue was throughout the room, from the tableclothes in the café to the mantel with trays and Lynn Kearny's beautiful pastel. Hanging in the Café were banners - gift of Landau Chartworks - of previous conference logos, all designed by colleague Emily Shepard. Around the room was a gallery displaying the work and lives of participants. And in the Café was a bookshelf with favorite volumes to share.
