Hi. Thanks for taking the time to look at my profile; in addition to some background information, I hope it gives you a sense of how I view and approach my work as a graphic recorder.
I’ve been an independent graphic recordersince 1990.I love my work; I find it to be a wonderful combination of intellectual stimulation & creative expression. I feel very privileged to have worked with businesses, nonprofits, government agencies, and educational groups in meetings around the world (U.S., Europe, Central America, Asia).
My work enriches the experience of meeting participants and provides a tool for productive, effective meetings. I listen intently to each speaker, extract the essence of the verbal contribution, and then display key ideas on large mural paper using words and pictures. Participants & meeting facilitators alike can see (literally) & take comfort in knowing that key concepts are being heard & captured. The murals form a visual memory of the meeting which participants can use both during and after the meeting (via digital photographs).
Large charts can enable participants to work in a collaborative manner, see connections and themes, and wrap their arms around complex issues. The displayed wisdom of the group can spark new ideas, insights, and thoughts. The creativity and color of large murals transform a meeting room in a subtle but significant way (a parallel might be to think about how advertising uses color, design, and layout to communicate rather than a list of black and white text points).
In meetings, I am able to quickly grasp what is being said (as you might imagine, that’s critical). I have worked in meetings in a wide spectrum of organizations (high tech, finance, healthcare, pharmaceutical, entertainment, education, government, nonprofit, etc.). I have a solid understanding of business concepts; I have an M.B.A. & worked in high tech & finance before becoming a graphic recorder. I have 20+ years experience working in meetings; I understand meeting design and process and work with my clients to effectively incorporate graphic recording to promote successful meeting outcomes.
I’d love to talk about partnering with you for your next meeting. Please give me a call or e-mail me.
