Kelvy Bird translates content and dynamics into visual, tangible formats to aid with reflection and decision-making. Supporting collaborative and multi-stakeholder environments since 1994, she describes her work as ‘The Fine Art of Listening,’ an approach to scribing that honors both the implicit and explicit aspects of conversations.
In 2011, Kelvy combined efforts with Sita Magnuson to form dpict llc, a boutique visualization firm specializing in graphic facilitation and customized workshops. Current partners and clients include: The Value Web, The Presencing Institute, Pegasus Communications, MIT Sloan School: Exec Education, Harvard Ed School: Project Zero, The World Economic Forum, The World Bank, and the US Navy Strategic Studies Group.
Kelvy also works as an agent of social transformation, harnessing group creativity for projects that cultivate personal development in organizational contexts - an example of which is leading design for the ecosystem of websites of the Presencing Institute, including it’s Global Classroom and online social network.
A visual artist by training, she received her BFA in painting and BA in Art History from Cornell University. When not on the road for work, she divides her time between Arlington MA and Brattleboro VT – gardening, with mixed results, and putting power tools to use on endless house projects
