I work at the wall on 4’ x 8’ foot sheets of paper, drawing and recording to capture the conversation taking place during the event. These words and images reflect ideas and record what is being said.
The drawings often evolve during the event into charts telling the story of the day. Individuals appreciate visually seeing their shared words expressed on the charts.
Graphic recording encourages people to think creatively, reflect on what is being said and become committed to what their words represent.
Graphic recording charts enable inclusive sharing of ideas in a visual way. For many individuals this provides a greater understanding of what transpired at the event.
Even those unable to attend the event can use the charts for key messages and outcomes of the meeting or event. The charts can also be used for communication for next steps or as a valuable reminder for follow-up sessions. Post summary charts or pre-event templates can also be developed based upon the needs of the event or leadership.
